Academic Preparation & Professional Conduct
Academic Preparation
Accepted students will be provided with a brief introductory module and required pre-reading materials prior to their first shadowing session.

These materials are designed to introduce students to basic radiology workflow, common imaging modalities, and expectations within a clinical reading room environment. Completion of the pre-reading is required before participating in any shadowing experience.
Professional Conduct & HIPAA
Dress Code
Business casual attire is required. Students should wear professional trousers or chinos paired with a collared top, blouse, or neat sweater. Closed-toe footwear is mandatory. Because radiology reading rooms are often kept cool, bringing an additional clean layer such as a fleece or cardigan is recommended.
Patient Privacy
Strict adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality is mandatory at all times. Students may not access patient records or discuss patient information outside of the clinical setting.
Conduct
Shadowing experiences are observational only. Students are encouraged to bring a notebook but must refrain from using cell phones in clinical areas. Professional behavior and respect for all clinical staff are expected at all times.
